Amazon.com Product Description The Audiovox Xpress WMH10A home dock offers everything you need to enjoy your Xpress plug-and-play satellite radio through your home stereo speakers. The kit starts with a tabletop docking station that cradles your Xpress at an easy-to-access angle, along with an AC power adapter that powers and charges your Xpress while you listen. The weather-resistant home antenna, meanwhile, comes with a 21-foot cable, so you can install the antenna on an outdoor windowsill to receive the best possible reception. Finally, the kit's RCA audio cables run from the docking station's output to one of the unused inputs on your home stereo receiver. The kit, which is designed exclusively for the Audiovox Xpress, carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor. Needs longer lead July 28, 2010 J. W. H. Esq (Midwest) This item works well and is a great way to maximize your XM Radio subscription. However, the lead in wire should be longer since the antenna node must be placed outside of the house free from any obstructions to work properly.
Talus is a great seller to work with. Their orders ship quickly and the items were always received very quickly.
simple and easy May 2, 2010 S. Cortez (Kingwood, Tx) It only took just a few minutes to plug everything up then I was jamming out to my favorite music. The price was great and the cords where long enough well more than enough but better long than short. I even use it outside for parties. Great buy.
A little disappointed, no longer FM inside. April 8, 2010 T. Ervin (tucson az usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buyers need to know -- used to be these radios could be used indoors, and they rebroadcast an okay FM signal so we could pick up the station on any FM radio in the small house, as they do in the car. That was very cool. We had our XM antenna and the old XM2GO unit near a satisfactory south window, and the broadcast it to our tuner/receiver, in the center of the home, on a good clear frequency. Other FM radios in the house could pick up the signal also, on a good day. (The old XM2GO unit is no longer working well, battery I think, and is no longer supported.)
Now XM has changed the product and it seems the ExpressRC unit does not broadcast an FM signal from the home dock. Or so I am told by the lady in Bangladesh. Evidently you MUST plug the home dock into the component (receiver) with audio cables. This means, in turn, you must run either the antenna cable some distance (and there's not enough of it here), and string it through the house and doors, or maybe get a very long audio cable and run it across the room..
The FM scheme was better for the customer, I think. There may be some technical reason they had to change it (interference with other devices?); or it is just greedy business (buy more XM radios, or buy the antenna repeater, or pay far too much for an antenna extension which still looks shabby strung across the house). Likely I will experiment with the repeater.
Tomorrow however, first, I will TRY to see if the FM thing still works from the home dock, at least in one room and line of sight. If this works I will post an updated review. If no such review, it's not working. Tom
Exactly what I needed January 30, 2010 Robert C. Schleicher (Pittsburgh PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Product works great and easy to set up. Antenna is powerful enough there is no need to install at a window. Enjoy.
Works Great for the ONYX! January 9, 2010 San Tan Bought this for my new ONYX XM radio and it works great! Was a little tricky to get the signal facing north in a window but after moving it around the window to a few places it now works great. Radioshack sold me the SUPH1 Universal Dock and Play Home Kit and it does not work even though the package said it would work for XM and Sirius radios, so I had to return it and buy this one.
