Stylish and affordable, Pyramid Car Audio's CDR86DX combines a CD player, a digital-synthesized AM/FM tuner, and a 40-watts-per-channel integrated amplifier/preamplifier with outputs for front and rear speaker pairs. RCA preamplifier outputs let you use the system with an outboard amplifier--either now or later, if you decide to upgrade to a higher-powered amp. Listen to your tunes with digital clarity and wireless convenience using the supplied remote control. The unit's fully illuminated faceplate detaches and slips into a supplied carry case so you can take it with you when you park your car, reducing the risk of a break-in.

The CD player uses a 1-bit D/A converter with 3-beam laser tracking, an anti-skip mechanism, and an 8x-oversampling digital filter to make sure your music sounds great and your listening isn't interrupted while you're on the road. Playback features include random, repeat (including segment looping), intro scan, and track skip (forward, reverse).

The unit's electronic-tuning receiver is US-/European-frequency compatible and offers 30-station memory (18 FM, 12 AM) with auto best-station memory/preset scanning to simplify setup.

For CDs, the display shows individual track minute, second, and track number. Volume and tone controls are all electronic, and you can tailor the system's sound to your preference using 3 preset equalizer curves (rock, pop, classic). Thee's also a digital clock with recall.
