At first look this seems like a great deal, and it probably would be if the player that was sent to me was actually functioning. I disconnected the headliner of my car and wired this puppy up and it was DOA. If you are installing yourself, imagine how pissed you will be to find out the damn thing doesn't work after you already invested some time into it.
One thing that I will say is that the customer service was helpful and they are in the process of issuing me a refund. I purchased a PYLE 10.4" model and the quality is ten-fold. You can tell that a lot more care went into making the PYLE over this model.
I have read a lot of people saying that the units don't come with IR, but they all have settings that you just have to turn on in the settings menu, so don't be afraid to buy because of that, but be aware of the quality of this machine.
I wrote this to be helpful and I hope that it helps you make a more informed decision. The PYLE was just under $200 and is a WAY better machine!

I bought this product as a low cost alternative to the higher priced DVD systems. Upon installation, my audio installer showed me the tool marks where the DVD player been installed in another car and taken out. This unit was sold to me as new. The player was missing the AV wires; they were taken completely out of the player. The screws on the back of the unit were stripped out. And to top it off, when we hooked it up to a battery, the unit wouldn't even turn on. My car audio installer said that in 19 years of doing installations, he had never heard of the XO Vision brand. Be careful if you buy this product. Thankfully I bought it from Amazon and their refund policy is second only to Costco.

I just bought this unit, install it over the weekend, pretty much easy if you are familiar with electricals....just like what they have said not for beginners. I rate it three not because it is not working right but because, the switch for dome lights has three wires the door, 12v constant and the ground. For newer car models this is will not work because newer car models have 4 wires mostly, correct me if I am wrong, these wires will only produce 6 volts each, as you notice there is a switch on your existing light, left (everything off) center (lights open when the door is open), right (Lights on), this switch combines these 6 volts to produce 12 volts to satisfy the voltage required. So when you install this unit, dome lights will work only when the door is open and the switch will not work at all because it requires solid 12 volts. In order to have a lights-on you need a seperate switch to combine 2 of the 6 volts when the door is not open. The lines for the dome lights work only when the door is open because the 4-wire line has 6 volts each, 6 volts when you open the door, 6 volts for the (+) constant. Installation, attaching to vehicle depends on your skill and not because of the product features....features wise...you can say all in for the basic, no IR though. but as a player, decent pictures. Sound is not that loud, Now I know why other reviewer got mad when there is no IR at all, what I did, extra wire for Audio out then connect to Aux on the stereo unit. Check first your wiring....this one has 3 wires for dome lights, red 12 volts+, yellow door , black ground....for the main unit...usual + and -, straight 12 volts but but but but FOR YOUR SAFETY - MY ADVISE (for self installation-this has nothing to do for this specific product but in general installations)is to check the amperes it might blow your fuse all the time....not bad to blow your fuse because it is the safety function of fuse, but do not put too high amp for the fuse because if there is something bad happen to your unit (surge from starting the engine, etc) might burn your car.

I have installed countless overheads, including Alpine, Rosen, Audiovox, and various other brands. The install on this is no more difficult than these other mentioned brands, and for the price it is very hard to beat. I wanted to correct a complaint that one of the reviewers stated. This overhead does in fact have an IR transmitter for IR Headphones, you just have to turn it on, and it is turned on and adjusted the same way that the FM transmitter is turned on. My only complaint about this particular unit is that you can't totally hide the wiring because the way the overhead was designed the wires are partially exposed in one of the corners. However, if the unit is installed properly you can't really notice it.

The unit itself is pretty compact, the swivel screen is very nice for accessing from front seat when loading dvds for the kids. I bought this to replace previous player that stopped working, so some installation work was already done. Wiring was pretty straight forward, mounting was sort of tricky. My van already had some cuts in the headliner so I was able to use these to get the template in place and then screw the unit in. I don't think I could have installed it with the screws it comes with--very short #8 machine screws. I had to use longer (about an inch and a half) #8 machine screws instead. This allowed me to install without taking down headliner (I screwed template in place using the two middle holes so it would stay put and then put the unit in place only using 3 of the possible 6 screws (I would have used 4--since only 2 were being used to hold the template in place to the headliner, but I could not get the 4th to line up and so I just tightened the 3 pretty good--will see how that works.) This was my first install of this type device, so all-in-all pretty satisfied. It took me about 2-3 hours. The fm transmitter is a bit staticy, but where I live this seems to be the case with all fm transmitters I've tried, though the one in my previous flip down unit (a monster of a unit) seemed to do a better job. The built in speaker volume is really too low to be of any use on the road. The unit has audio outs for a hard wire connection, but I did not have an adapter or want to run the wire for that, so I went with fm transmitter option.
