The internal amplifier (17 watts RMS x 4 channels; 52 watts total) will deliver plenty of signal to your speakers, for clean sound no matter how loud you like to crank it.

It plays both CD-R and CD-RW discs that you burn at home, as well as discs with MP3 or Sony's ATRAC3 digital audio file format. It also features an SSIR-EXA tuner with 18 FM and 12 AM presets. Featuring Adaptive Reception characteristics, the SSIR-EXA circuitry can actually adjust the tuner's bandwidth, providing optimal performance in both congested and sparsely populated FM areas.

Tweak the overall sound with the EQ3's three-band equalizer and seven preset tone curves. The set of preamp outputs includes an adjustable low-pass filter and level control--convenient when you're driving a system with a sub. Select the subwoofer output, and you get a low-pass filter and level control that let you manage your bass from the driver's seat.
