Not only does Sony's CDX-S2010 CD receiver feature a cool geometric faceplate, it has a gun-metal gray finish and blue LCD display screen that'll give your dash a touch of 21st-century style. Plus, detachable face security ensures that this piece of technology will stay right where it belongs, in your car. And you won't suffer for clean sound, either. The internal amplifier (17 watts RMS x 4 channels; 52 watts total) will deliver plenty of signal to your speakers, for clean sound no matter how loud you like to crank it.

It plays both CD-R and CD-RW discs that you burn at home, and features an SSIR-EXA tuner with 18 FM and 12 AM presets. Featuring Adaptive Reception characteristics, the SSIR-EXA circuitry can actually adjust the tuner's bandwidth, providing optimal performance in both congested and sparsely populated FM areas.

Tweak the overall sound with the EQ3's three-band equalizer and seven preset tone curves. The set of preamp outputs includes an adjustable low-pass filter and level control--convenient when you're driving a system with a sub. Select the subwoofer output, and you get a low-pass filter and level control that let you manage your bass from the driver's seat.

Note: A vehicle-specific wiring harness, antenna adapter, and in-dash player harness are required to install this in-dash player.

This is a pretty good CD player. It has been a very dependable player. In my three years of ownership the player has only skipped a few times and it was over some extremely bumpy terrain. Sound quality is great! There are a couple of things that are annoying about it though. For instance there is no play or stop button. If you hit the off button the only way to play the CD already inside is to eject it and reinsert it. There is also no pause button. Overall I would recommend this player to anyone who isn't looking to spend a lot of money, but want a reliable receiver.
