Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Reviews The MP3 FM modulator is a revolutionary development in in-car entertainment. Simply connect the FM transmitter to your car cigarette adapter and listen to your favourite music tracks through your car stereo directly from your personal music player or transform your USB flash memory stick into an MP3 player. The transmitter offers compatibility with a wide range of portable audio devices. Using the 3.5mm audio cable (included) you can connect almost all personal music devices such as iPod, MP3 players, personal CD players and many more. The transmitter can also be used to play music files directly from a USB flash memory stick/drive. Simply load your favourite music files onto the memory stick/drive and connect this directly to the transmitter via the integrated USB port. You have now converted a simple flash memory stick into an in-car MP3 player which you can control with the buttons to play, stop and skip music tracks with ease. The transmitter also offers a charging function if your personal music device can be charged via USB connection. Use the USB port on the transmitter to charge your music player providing you have the USB cable for the device. If you have an iPod you can charge it via the USB connection, however, you cannot play music whilst charging.

1 out of 5 stars LUPO MP3 PLAYER USB FM   December 4, 2008

This item never worked for me, tried it on two car systems, nothing dead as a do-do hence in the bin, complete waste of money, i couldn't be bothered with the return procedure that's why i binned it,Expensive but easier:-(

5 out of 5 stars OK for technophobes!   October 22, 2008

As a middle-aged female, more used to vinyl than electronic music, I found this product relatively easy to use. It does exactly what it said on the package in the exact way it said on the package. My MP3 player volume was low and the product needed adjusting in the car socket, both of which caused me a good ten minutes to discover.
For the price this product is amazing and extremely good value.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   October 19, 2008

I bought one of these last week from Gizmo Deals. Not only did it arrive almost before my computer had cooled down it worked as soon as it was plugged in. I'd copied a compilation of songs to a 512 flash pen, plugged it in, tuned in the car radio and there it all was! Brilliant little piece of equipment.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed   October 8, 2008
Regular Amazon customer (UK)
Although I knew this would be a basic product I had high expectations from other reviews and I did think that its performance would be better. It cannot cope with extremes of frequency or loudness as it produces quite a lot of reverberation. I thought this was the radio's loudspeakers at first but checked my radio again & they are OK - it must be to do with the device. Even though I've tuned it into the correct frequency & made sure that it's bedded in the socket properly, there is still some electronic noise. The specified 3 foot audio lead is half the length at 18 inches and the jack plugs are a loose fit.
The competitive price is a good way of finding out if this is something I would want to use long term.

I'd previously had a Griffin FM transmitter for a 2G iPod, but that had the additional connection next to the phone jack, so I couldn't use it on my new 4G iPod - that's why I bought this.
I think that the Lupo is the better product -I'd avoid any product that plugs into the base of an iPod as you won't be able to use it on any other product.
The Lupo does have the drawback that you can only use it in the car. The good thing about battery powereds ones is that you can use them in the house, and tune radios in different rooms to the same station, so you get the same music throughout the house.
The choice of stations, although limited, has not been a problem for me.
One niggle is that the jack somehow didn't make contact with the connections in the headphone socket in the 4G iPod (though it worked fine on the 2G and Zen MP3 players I tried it on), so I had to use a small headphone extension lead I had to hand.
I liked the fact that it can play USB memory sticks - and it does.
I'll be getting some of these to give for Christmas presents this year - good for Secret Santa at this price!
