Excellent performanne July 29, 2010 Len Deneer I had previously used two battery powered fm transmitters. Neither lasted long or performed well. This unit is powered from the cigarette lighter socket, and sends a very strong signal that blocks stray noises from not-completely empty wavelengths - even driving right across the country. Supporting USB sticks in addition to my MP3 player is also a great boon. I strongly recommend this unit, even if the display is too small to read, and have already bought a second one for my son. Far cheaper than a CD changer!
what a waste of money July 14, 2010 G. Sayers (uk) i recently bought one of these units, and it was absolute rubbish. when i tuned the unit into my car radio (to play my music via my mp3 player), the radio channel played in mono (left speaker only).
to get stereo reception, i had to re-tune the unit to a nearby frequency,i.e radio 105 mhz, unit 104mhz. needless to say the sound was less than good. then after using the unit for approx 10 mins (from new), the unit started to transmit interference over the music (a rapid pulsing noise), i re-tuned the unit several times matching the frequency with the radio but the noise remained.i then turned off my car engine, thinking that it might be interference from the ignition system (still the same noise), i then tried a different mp3 player (still no change).
after wasting another 20 mins of my life trying to resolve the problem, anger and frustration got the better of me.i removed the unit from my lighter socket got out of my car, and brought my size 9 foot down on it as hard as i could (very satisfying indeed).
so, from my personal point of view, don't waste your money on one of these, co's they suck!!
i have reluctantly given this product 1 star, only because that field had to be filled in to allow the review to be posted.
Works a treat July 13, 2010 Roger (Lancs, UK) Bought as a present for my daughter to play mp3 in car. She is well pleased. Good value too.
it never came!!! June 25, 2010 L. Gallego (london) this is my first month in amazon and I have bought lots of things, but I bought this to TeckNet and I havent received the item or at least an email from TeckNet.
it was supposed to be here 10 days ago!!
Fantastic device June 3, 2010 J. Hardy (England) BRILLIANT DEVICE.
I have a Pure Evoke digital radio which records in MP2 format onto a 2Gb SD card. Once I had converted these files to MP3 format and named each track all these tracks were played via this device from the SD card alphabetically during a long holiday motoring abroad. My preferred station to make recording from is BBC radio 4 and the speech tracks were played with excellent clarity via this device.
My only slight problem was that if the device is disconnected from the cigarette lighter and re-connected without the radio being switched on to receive the transmission I was not aware that the track was playing but easy enough to get into the habit of pressing the pause button as soon as the device is connected.
