Product Description
Double the size; many times the entertainment. Play, talk, listen. The double-din (which means it fits into a size twice that of a normal car radio) FH-P80BT is your communication and entertainment hub.Make and receive calls wirelessly, as well as stream music: the FH-P80BT supports both hands-free and audio profiles from your mobile phone. This means that you dont need any additional in-car kits, cradles, wires or headsets. The FH-P80BT will play your entire music collection as well, supporting every audio file format. Hook up your iPod, USB music source or portable audio player, and control them directly from the CD Tuner. You can control this CD Tuner with its Rotary Commander, which works very much like a joystick - essential for navigating through your WMA, MP3 and iTunes audio files.

5 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit   March 29, 2009

I installed this stereo in my Volvo S40 and it's great. It has all the features you need. Connecting/Pairing your phone to the stereo is really easy and the quality of the microphone is great for making those hands free phone calls. No more need for a separate bluetooth headset or fiddling about with a hands free earphone/mic combination.

The radio reception so far is fine as is the CD functionality. The ability to quickly browse to a station with the navigation wheel is a very nice touch as there are not very many buttons, 90% of user input coming from the large navigation wheel which works really well.

99% of my music are on USB sticks and they work fine through the included USB cable. The browsing functionality of folders of whatever is on your USB is really easy to use similar to that of the radio stations but with more levels i.e. folder name --> MP3 files. It can also display a few different combinations whilst the tracks are being played such as Album + Track, Artist + Album, Artist + Track etc.

I have also tried it with my IPOD Touch and again you can browse through the contents of your IPOD without any issues. I didn't have not have issues with shuffling as the previous reviewer has.

It also has an included little remote which is a nice touch. Oh and, yes it looks really cool particularly during night time driving.

My only real gripe is that it doesn't have any real security features i.e. you cannot remove the faceplate or neither does it have a card or code that is required for it to power on. Apart from this, high Pioneer standards, 5 Stars !!

Once I finally managed to get it installed in my car (problems mostly due to my car to be fair) it seems to be a very good piece of kit for the money.

2 items still remain a bit poor for me - 1stly mw radio reception (which could just be an arial connection problem) and secondly I cant get rid of the ipod shuffle using the stereo - i have to use the ipod itself to remove shuffle turned on by the stereo. Not too bad a problem you may think but a nightmare if listening to audio books !

On positives, phone works well, cd fine and (apart from the shuffle issue) ipod connection is great (and that was what I was really after).
