How to get rid of demo message. September 6, 2008 Mr. R. J. Davidson 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
To get rid of the "DEMO" scrolling message perform the following:- 1) Connect up the unit. 2) Switch on the ignition. 3) Ignore what the manual says on page 25 about switching on/off the "DEMO" message. 4) Press the SRC button until the unit displays "STANDBY". 5) Press the MENU button for 1 second until "MENU" is displayed for about 2 seconds followed by another message. 6) Push the control knob towards FM or AM until "DEMO ON" is displayed. 7) Push and hold the control knob for 2 seconds, the display will now read "DEMO OFF". 8) Press the SRC button. 9) Presto, no annoying demo message. As the instruction manual for this car stereo is badly written the above steps will be of great help. Also when playing a CD full of folders containing mp3's, the folder list displayed starts at "FOLDER 2" and not "FOLDER 1". I think that the root of the CD is "Folder 1". Also depending on your installation, you may need a M4x8 screw and mounting strap, which do not come with the unit. This is a great little unit, good value and good features. Well worth the money.
Good for my ipod June 20, 2008 Mrs. Joanne Pearce 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Brill sound when you can get it to work...but instructions not at all clear and there is a demo message that you need to get rid of....once this is done fantastic value, fantastic sound but not that user friendly until you know what your doing.... Using it with ipod you have to turn the sound up quite high but the quality is crystal clear... Just think the instructions are bad...
Good but with niggles February 15, 2008 T. Austin (Runcorn, UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I like these head units so much that I have bought 2 of them! They do everything they say they will very well. You even get an aerial adapter in the box so everything should be ready to go! The only down side is that the instruction manual can be a bit hard to follow at times but once you have set up the AUX input for your ipod and got rid of the demo scrolling message you will not need to look at it again. Also the volume control does the balance/tone settings and if you accidentally push the control instead of turning it, you have to go through all the settings to get back to change the volume. This took a bit of getting used to, but it's a niggle not a bad flaw. If you can live with that then I would recommend this player. I have not had any problems with skipping or jumping on CDs. It goes loud without any distortion and sounds good. MP3s in folders are recognised and you can get the folder names scrolled as well as the mp3 titles when navigating through. If you have folders within folders only the mp3 folders are shown eg: 2diskalbum\disk1\track1.mp3 will just show as disk1 in the folder menu, you will never see 2diskalbum. I'm very happy with mine and for the price it is great value!
Excellent sound. February 11, 2008 Horse (uk) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Bought this unit for my girlfriends car and i am so jealous beacuse i cant fit one in mine. Sounds excellent with the standard car speakers.
Big sounds, little price August 29, 2007 C. Tafreshi 32 out of 33 found this review helpful
This player is fantastic ! Very easy to use and lovely to look at, without being overly "flash". Having the front aux point for your iPod, means quick connection and all your favourite tunes at your finger tips, without having to keep loads of CDs in your car. Even with the volume on full blast, the sound is crystal clear, even if listening to the radio! Delivered straight to your door, and half the price of many large chain stores, this is a definate bargain.
